Bronze Final Preview

South Africa v Argentina

A third place play off always feels like a strange occasion, but tonight’s game brings some interesting sub plots to the match in what could turn out to be a cracker of a game. Injury hit Argentina have named a team with nine changes, opposed to the Boks who have made little adjustment to their 15. A 15 that could signal final world cup appearances for Fourie du Preez, Matfield, Burger and Habana. Also perhaps for coach Heyneke Meyer, whose own future is till very much in doubt.

Having already beaten SA this year, the Pumas know what has to be done. Their attacking stats are fantastic, only behind the All Blacks. As opposed to the Boks, who lead the charts in two things- tackling and penalties. When the two clash tonight, it’ll be the expansive and quick hand Pumas against the resilient and match smart Boks.
